Registering the Aloha License
By default, the ALOHA load balancer is delivered in evaluation version, with a limit of 10 connections per second.
In most cases, this is enough to run a proof of concept to check if the ALOHA can meet your requirements.
If you want to test it with live traffic or to test its performance, you can get a time limited license with a greater capacity.
Request a time-limited license
In the ALOHA WUI, open the Setup tab, where the activation link is located.
Click on [activation]. A new tab opens in your browser on the HAProxy Technologies website.
Complete the customer details form with your information.
Choose Limited 30 days trial license.

Check that your ALOHA information is correct:
ALOHA model
ALOHA version
ETHID (required for both ALOHA Hardware and Virtual Appliance)
UUID (for Virtual Appliance only)
Appliance serial # (required for Hardware appliances)
q#. Click Submit request.
HAProxy Technologies then processes the request and sends you an email with a link to download the license file.

In the ALOHA WUI, open the Setup tab and scroll to the bottom of the page to enter the license form:
Click on Browse and point to the license file you have just downloaded
Click on Add.
Click on Save.
Warning
It is important to click on Save; otherwise the license cannot be written to the flash and be lost after the next reboot.

Once done, go to the Setup page to check that your license status is valid and the capacity allowed.
Get a full license
To get a full license, you must have ordered it first. Order link.
In the ALOHA WUI, open the Setup tab, where the activation link is located.
Click on [activation]. A new tab opens in your browser on the HAProxy Technologies website.
Complete the customer details form with your information.
Choose Full License.

Get a Virtual Appliance upgrade
The ALOHA load balancer Virtual Appliance licenses are linked to a major branch.
Before you upgrade to a new major branch, you must get a license for that branch.
In the ALOHA WUI, open the Setup tab and scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the [request for license] link.
Click on [request for license]. A new tab opens in your browser on the HAProxy Technologies website.
Complete the customer details form with your information.
Choose Full License.

Check that your ALOHA information is correct:
ALOHA model
ALOHA version
ETHID (required for both ALOHA Hardware and Virtual Appliance)
UUID (for Virtual Appliance only)
Appliance serial # (required for Hardware appliances)
Note
Change the ALOHA version to the firmware you want to upgrade to.

Click Submit request.

In the ALOHA WUI, open the Setup tab and scroll to the bottom of the page to enter the license form:
Click on Browse and point to the license file you have just downloaded
Click on Add.
Click on Save.
You now see a new row describing your two licenses, one for the current major branch and one for the new major branch. The license status should be invalid. The license will become valid when it is used by the new firmware.
Note
The ALOHA allows firmware rollback. We recommend that you keep old ALOHA licenses.
