Pre-install checklist

Use this checklist before installing HAProxy Enterprise on any new server. Complete every item before proceeding.
Review documentation Jump to heading
- Read the release notes for the target version (for example, check for module requirements, default behaviors, and known issues).
- Note any configuration directives, modules, or options specific to this version.
- Confirm the target version is appropriate for your use case, or whether a different version is recommended.
Hardware and OS requirements Jump to heading
- Confirm the server meets the minimum hardware requirements for your expected traffic load.
- Verify that your OS version is supported by the target HAProxy Enterprise version.
- Obtain and record your HAProxy Enterprise license keys or subscription credentials required for the package repository.
- Note that if installing manually, the installation procedure has instructions for configuring your package manager with the correct HAProxy Enterprise repository for the target version.
Review firewall and network settings Jump to heading
- Add any necessary network interfaces and assign them the desired IP addresses.
- Confirm that all ports required by HAProxy and any enabled features are open in your firewall.
- If using VRRP/keepalived for high availability, document the VRRP configuration and virtual IP assignments for this node.
Create a baseline backup Jump to heading
- After installation, copy all configuration files to a backup location outside of
/etc/hapee-3.3/, for example, for version 3.3.
Additional steps for HAProxy Fusion Control Plane Jump to heading
- If HAProxy Enterprise will be managed by HAProxy Fusion Control Plane, complete the following:
- Before directing production traffic, add the node to HAProxy Fusion and confirm the node has been registered with HAProxy Fusion.
- Make an HAProxy Fusion backup.
