Configuring NTP on ALOHA
The NTP (Network Time Protocol) standard defines a clock synchronization system between computers across the network.
Define NTP server used at boot time
In the WUI, select the Services tab.
Browse to the line ntp and click on
to display a configuration page.
Specify the NTP servers to use to force time synchronization at boot with the keyword
sync_servers

Specify the option
unpriv_port
to use port sources greater than 1024.service ntp ########## Network Time Protocol daemon. Recommended. # [no] unpriv_port : do not/do use an unprivileged source port # force_sync : force NTP synchronisation upon startup. Delete the line "no autostart" to enable the service to start automatically when the machine boots.
Click OK and Close to return to the Services tab.
On the line ntp, click
to restart.
Define other NTP servers used at runtime
By default, NTP is configured to use public NTP addresses, but you can also define other servers.
In the WUI, select the Services tab.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Advanced mode".
On the NTP line, click "Edit".
Modify the configuration using the "Help" located at the top right of the page.
Click OK and Close.
Delete the line "no autostart" to enable the service to start automatically when the machine boots.
On the line ntp, click
to restart.
Synchronize ALOHA with NTP servers
You can synchronize the ALOHA with NTP servers either manually or automatically (interval based, see procedure above).
Note
You must use the NTP server IP address and not its FQDN. The ALOHA does not use DNS resolution for its internal system.
In the WUI, select the Setup tab.
At the bottom, in the section "System", fill in the box "Update from NTP server" with the address of an NTP server.
Click "Update".
Check the updated system time.
