Firmware Numbering

The ALOHA Load-Balancer firmware version number is composed by 3 digits separated by dots .:

<major> . <minor> . <patch set>

  • major and minor branches include bug fixes and new features. Upgrade carefully.

  • patch set includes only bug fixes.

Note

  • The ALOHA Virtual Appliance licenses are valid in a major branch only. Before upgrading, you must install a license valid in the new major branch.

  • Licenses for ALOHA hardware appliances are valid for all branches.

Obtain the Current Firmware

The procedures below show you how to obtain the current running firmware version.

From the CLI

  • Get root access by typing root.

  • Run fgrep -i version /usr/share/factory/version.

From the WUI

  • Open the Setup tab.

  • Look for the System area on the left of the page.

  • Read the Version line.

Obtain the Current Aloha Model

From the CLI

  • Get root access by typing root.

  • Run fgrep -i model /usr/share/factory/version.

From the GUI

  • Open the Setup tab.

  • Look for the System area on the left of the page.

  • Read the Model line.

Supported ALOHA Appliances

The ALOHA 9.0 firmware supports the following ALOHA appliance models:

  • alb3100

  • alb3200

  • alb5100

  • alb5200

  • alb30k

  • alb50k
